Spouse recently started taking ADHD Medication.

My wife started taking Wellbutrin a few months back and Methylphenidate recently.  She seems to be able to focus a bit better on day to day tasks,  but I feel like I'm invisible now at times.  At times she seems to hyper focus more now than in the past.    Is this something that is common with Adhd meds and specifically what my wife is taking?  I have dealt with the occasional hyper focus and distracted behavior in the past, but now she seems very focused on many of the things she's doing and it's as if I'm not there.  She still has lapses in focus.  She ran out of gas last week, and as alw

Non-ADHD Husband Threatens to Leave

I am newly learning that many of the issues in my marriage probably stem from my ADHD. My husband and I have two young children and I am 16 weeks pregnant. We have had ups and downs and recently we seem to have hit rock bottom. He told me last night that he was going to leave, not speak to me, and that I would be responsible for telling our children. An hour and a half goes by of me trying to process what happened and he comes in calmly to tell me he made a mistake, he said things he didn't mean when he was extremely frustrated and that he loves me.

An ADHD partner dealing with my partner's anger

Hi there, I am 40-something male with inattentive ADHD. I have suspected my whole life that I have it but was only diagnosed about a year ago. That said, my non-ADHD wife and I (together 18 years, married 14) have long struggled greatly with issues related to my ADHD.

Having difficulty remembering things important to my partner

Hi everyone, first time posting here.

I'm a male adult that had ADHD as a kid, and was diagnosed (without testing, just through talking with a therapist) with adult ADHD earlier. I am married to a wonderful, thoughtful, and non-ADHD partner. As additional background, I also have anxiety and have been taking fluoxetine.

"I'm too upset to eat" after I just spent two hours making a meal...

Honestly just curious, does anyone else ever experience this?

Here's a real-life example of our common situation:

We're both artists/entrepreneurs. I just spent 2 hours cleaning and cooking in the kitchen to make dinner after a 10 hour day of doing chores while she worked on her creative project all by herself.

Seeking Knowledge

Hello, everyone.  This is my first post on any type of ADHD-related forum, and I'm not exactly sure how/where to start.

I am a 52 year old married father of four.  I've been pretty certain that I'm suffering from ADHD for several years now.  I've been in therapy, on and off, for more than five years...with limited results.  I have FINALLY scheduled my official ADHD assessment for the 31st of January.  That day cannot get here soon enough.  I'm hoping that with a proper diagnosis, I can begin getting treatment, both medically AND through proper therapy.

Adhd husband and his original family

Forum:

My husband and our second daughter have ADHD. Daughter is doing well because I got her therapy and accommodations from a young age. Husband is very successful entrepreneur because he surrounded himself with people to keep him organized, admitting he "files by piles".  After 29 years, having raised two beautiful and successful daughters, despite the ADHD challenges, with me managing all the details, I am suddenly, unexpectedly attacked by his siblings with crazy notions they are projecting onto me, but are actually in their own heads.

When there's no understanding

I have a major issue developing where I have stopped an activity that has been my husband's interest for many years, and to which I have been expected to contribute, because it was just taking way too much money from our shared funds and I just didn't want to lose any more money at this stage of our lives - both nearly 60.  My husband has always considered this "investment" will fund his retirement but is a high-risk, low return endeavour and very few people actually make money from it.  This has been going on about 15 years and I've had enough as we have lost hundreds of thousands of dolla
